Homeless Dog to Our Protector

This is why Bentley is top dog! Bentley has been through a lot. He was rescued from the streets when he was a puppy. When Bentley came home he followed us everywhere. Bentley would come in my room and lay on my bed. He would come in our bathroom and he would lay by the tub when we took a bath. He felt at home right away because he needed a lot of love and we gave it to him.

As Bentley got older he became more attached. These are some ways he is attached. He plays soccer with my family. Bentley would play chase around the house. When friends are over, he wants to play with us. He loves children. He recognizes our car as it is heading towards my house. Bentley always comes into any room that we are in.

When my little sister Holland was born Bentley became even more loving. He would sleep in front of her crib at night. Bentley comes in to the room if she starts crying. When someone holds her, Bentley watches that person. When my Mom came home from the hospital, Bentley would always lay by Mom and Holland.

Bentley will always be there for my family. He barks at strangers. Bentley runs to the window if he sees someone or something go past the window. When anyone cries he comes to them. When we walk with him he always stays with us. This is why I think Bentley is the top dog in Medina County. He knows that we saved him so he wants to take care of us.

                My Dog Benjamin Franklin

My dog is the best thing to me and is the Top Dog no matter what. I’m his big brother and I love him. We got him a year and a half ago. He was six months old. He was left abandoned in a field in Cleveland without a name tag, registration or even a collar. He was dirty, skinny, hungry and tired. My mom’s friend found him and took him home. She called my mom and said I cannot take in another dog. We met him and decided he was the right dog for us.

We took him to PetSmart for dog stuff, to Drug Mart for his license and to the vet for shots and a checkup. Our free dog cost us over $1,000 in his first few days with us!

Benjamin is the best dog ever. He is so cute. He is a mutt. His face is weird. Ben is very friendly and playful and also very fast. He is a lap dog. He jumps on people when they come over, but it’s just his way of saying hi. He is a power chewer and gets into trouble sometimes. He likes to chew on everything even underpants and
socks. He eats stuff he shouldn’t and sometimes I get scared because I’m afraid he will get sick. My grandma is afraid of animals, but she loves Ben. She even brings him treats and pets him. I nicknamed him Benjamin Fartagus for a simple reason. When I am sick he knows it and stays with me. He likes to be with his humans. I am his boy. He likes our cat, but she doesn’t like him too much. I thing Ben knows we saved his life and is thankful because he loves us very much. Ben rocks! I hope you like my essay and that you pick Ben as Top Dog.

I think my Aunt Dee’s dog deserves to be “Top Dog” in Medina County. Kadee is seven years old and she was a drop off from a car. The next door neighbor did not want her so my Aunt Dee took her instead. She is a tan and white collie. She is very kind, and she does not bite. Kadee only saved someone twice and that was our neighbor. One day our neighbor was working in the garden and Kadee was with her. Then she broke a hip and Kadee ran to get Uncle Mancel. He rushed to the hospital and in a few weeks she was ok. Another time she was stung by hornets in the garden and Kadee got Aunt Dee and got her out. One time Kadee even got poisoned by anti-freeze and she got rushed to the hospital. She almost died. That’s why Kadee should be Top Dog in Medina County.

Fourth Place:

My dog Alex is the Top Dog because he is a big fur ball. He is a small dog like a whole and quarter of a Weiner dog. He is fluffy, kind of like a blanket but heavier. He is white and sometimes we loose him in the snow.

After emailing my mom several pictures of different dogs, she finally let us drive to West Virginia to rescue Alex. That is why I like my dog. My dog Alex is the best dog for Top Dog.

Alex knows four tricks especially how to sit and stay. He is a weather man because he shakes before every storm. He is a moving blanket because he will start at the end of your bed and work his way up to your head. That is why he should be Top Dog.

The top dog I Medina County is my dog Gizmo. I got him two years ago. He likes to play tug-of-war. He is a shih tzu. He is black and white.

Gizmo can do this trick where he dances on two legs for a toy or something. Gizmo is not the brightest bulb in the tanning bed but he listens really good. Gizmo knows from right or wrong all the time once told. All these reasons make Gizmo a great pet!!!
