County Auditor's Office Employee Receives Statewide Award
|
MEDINA, Ohio (November 2, 2011) - Wendy
Stanek, a Medina County Auditor’s Office employee, recently received
the statewide Empowering and Strengthening Ohio’s People (ESOP)
Volunteer of the Year Award.
After seeing a rise in foreclosures, Medina County Auditor Michael
Kovack partnered with ESOP, a non-profit foreclosure prevention
agency. Through this partnership, Kovack was able to implement a
free, mortgage assistance program within his office. In 2009, with
the help of a dedicated staff and volunteers, the Medina County
Auditor’s Office began assisting struggling homeowners.
Stanek was one of the individuals who stepped forward to assist with
the newly established program. Since then, she has gone above and
beyond to help hundreds of homeowners save their homes from
foreclosure.
Since 2009, more than 1,000 families have received foreclosure
prevention assistance with the Medina County Auditor’s Office. If
