November Countywide Students of the Month Announced
|
Contact: Brittany Schmigel, (330) 725-9756
Date: December 12, 2011
For Immediate Release
Michael E. Kovack, Medina County Auditor, announced the County
Students of the Month and the runners-up for the month of February.
Students of the Month are selected from each high school by a
committee of peers who review the applications and choose the most
outstanding two students for the current month. These applications
are then forwarded to Auditor Kovack as the coordinator of the
program. Student representatives then meet to determine the County
winners.
The Student of the Month Program is open to all Medina County High
Schools. Students must complete an application to be considered for
the honor. They are judged in several categories: Scholastic
Abilities, Clubs and Activities, School/Community Service,
Employment, Music, Drama or Athletic Participation and Awards and
Honors. Students of the Month are selected by a panel of their
peers. Students interested in applying should contact their school’s
Student of the Month Advisor.
Kovack said, “This is an outstanding honor for a young person and
something that should be listed in college and scholarship
applications. These students have worked hard to achieve a high
level of success. I am very appreciative of the effort made by the
advisors in each school and the committees themselves. The Kiwanis
Club has been a strong supporter of this program every year as has
the Feckley Foundation.”
