Save Ohio Strays

All pets on this page are available at Save Ohio Strays.

Save Ohio Strays was founded in 2005 to save adoptable animals from premature euthanasia.  To date, this animal rescue organization has saved more than 1,300 lives.  All the work is done completely by a group of dedicated volunteers.  All animals are completely vetted, including spaying and neutering, before being adopted out.

Hi, my name is Cooper.  I am around 2 years old, 24 pounds and seem to be a hound/terrier mix.  I am old enough to have gone through all those terrible puppy times!  I am a high-energy boy and would love an active home!  I'd make a great jogging buddy because I enjoy running and chasing balls.  I get along well with other dogs, but would prefer a home without cats--since I like to chase them too!  I love all people, including children.  I have great house manners, except I can bark a lot if I'm under-exercised.  I recently started on basic obedience and I'm doing great!  I pick up on things pretty quickly!  Do you want me to be your running partner?  To apply for adoption, please fill out an online application at www.saveohiostrays.org

My name is Huck, I'm five-years-old and I'm the happiest guy you'll ever meet.  My nose is always sniffing, my tail is always wagging and I don't know the meaning of the word "stranger."  Everyone is a friend to me!  I love people, especially kids, and I get along well with other dogs.  I'm fully housetrained and can be left unattended, without getting myself into much trouble.  I enjoy going for walks and I'm getting the hang of the Halti collar, so I don't pull.  I'm curious about everything, so I need a fenced-in yard or to be on a leash when I'm outside.  To apply to adopt me, please fill out an online application at www.saveohiostrays.org.  I can't wait to meet you!

Peanut would be a great cat with one or two other cats.  It might take a little time for her to warm up to others, but she's used to being around other cats.  When we first got Peanut, she was very sick with an enlarged liver.  She had to have a feeding tube to get better.  Now she is a healthy, happy cat.  She recently had her teeth cleaned and is up-to-date with all vaccinations.  She loves naps and will sleep beside you all night.  She has a great personality and uses the litter box like a champ.  To apply for adoption, please fill out an online application at www.saveohiostrays.org

Save Ohio Strays saved me!  My name is Patches and I was at the shelter, pregnant and sick.  I actually became so sick that I lost my litter of kittens.  I survived and I am ready for a new home.  I'm friendly and get along with male cats better that females.  I need a little time to warm up to them, though.

Remember, Save Ohio Strays offers a "Twice as Nice" program:  Adopt one kitten that is fixed, wormed and up-to-date on shots for only $75, and your second kitten is no charge.  Kittens always do better in pairs and this is a great deal. To apply for adoption, please fill out an online application at www.saveohiostrays.org
