Error Messages

Sometimes your result from visiting a page on our website will produce an error. Here are some common (or un-common) errors and what to do:

What to do common to all errors:
   (1) Clear your browser's cache (temporary storage, temporary internet files).
Go to your browser's options/settings and delete all temporary internet file and all
         offline content.
   (2) Go to http://www.medinacountyauditor.org/ & hit "refresh" on each page that
         you visit.
   (3) If problem persists, contact your Service Provider because they are holding
in memory and ask them what to do. (We are not responsible for this.)

Site Not Found Error

  • Additional What to do:
       (1) Nothing! See "common to all errors" above.
  • When/why does this happen:
       (1) "Site not found" rarely happens! It happens for two reasons:
          (a) We re-booted our computer. The site will only be "down" for three minutes.
          (b) Internet connections are busy. (We are not responsible for this.)
  • What are the consequences of this?
       (1) Your browser could save this result in memory, and without clearing it or
"refreshing" it, the result will be there all day!

Cache Errors
Robot Errors (also see Robots or Spiders)

  • Additional What to do:
       (1) Remove all bookmarks regarding www.medinacountyauditor.org!
  • When/why does this happen:
       (1) A robot was sent by your Service Provider to fetch search results
because someone using your Service Provider bookmarked results
("saved to favorites"). We will not allow robots to run our search engines!
       (2) A robot was sent by your Service Provider to fetch a page when the internet
was busy or our server momentarily down.
       (3) The page was saved by your browser when the internet was busy
             or our server momentarily down.
  • What are the consequences of this?
       (1) Your browser could save this result in memory, and without clearing it or
"refreshing" it, the result will be there all day!

Page Not Found Error

  • Additional What to do:
       (1) Remove all bookmarks regarding www.medinacountyauditor.org!
  • When/why does this happen:
       (1) You visited a page that we had at one time and bookmarked the result.
The page no longer exists, so you get an error.
       (2) A page at another website or an offline page that you keep references a
web page that we no longer have. In this case, edit your page or ask the
referring website to update their links.
  • What are the consequences of this?
       (1) Your browser could save this result in memory, and without clearing it or
"refreshing" it, the result will be there all day!

Bookmark Errors (also see bookmarks page)

  • Additional What to do:
       (1) Remove all bookmarks regarding www.medinacountyauditor.org!
  • Discussion:
       (1) We will not allow anyone to create a page on their site or offline that
runs on of our search engines! They would be using our computer time
and space to benefit their site. See bookmarks page form.
                That's why http://www.medinacountyauditor.org/cgi-bin/calltran.psc?TD=1
won't work when you click on it from this page! We didn't give this page
permission to do that. (Look for transfers in Taxing District 1)
       (2) A bookmarked search result has the same effect as the above.

       (3) Highly specialized request results. Let's suppose that someone wants to
get the tax estimate for a $101,101 property in Homer township. That is a
highly specialized request. If it's bookmarked, it is possible that that person's
Service Provider will send a robot each and every day to run that request.
                Sorry, we won't allow that.
