Appraisal Costs Lowest in the State

Dear Medina County Residents,

As many of you know who follow this website, I have been committed for several years to having the lowest possible costs for State-mandated mass appraisals.  It is this commitment that led me to bringing the appraisals in-house and training the staff to collect and enter all the data required to do them.  By not contracting out this huge process which normally takes about two years, I was able to save hundreds of thousands of Medina County tax payer dollars.  Those savings were recently returned to the taxing districts to the tune of $4 million!

This week I received the "Contract Costs for Reappraisals, 2005-2010," report from the Ohio Department of Taxation.

I am pleased to announce that Medina County had the lowest contract costs for real estate appraisal per parcel in the State of Ohio. 

I want to thank all of my staff who worked diligently to make this happen in a timely and cost-effective manner.
