2022 State-Mandated Reappraisal

You should have recently received a revised property value due to the 2022 State-Mandated Reappraisal. Revised values are based on property sales throughout the county since our last reappraisal for tax year 2019. For more information, check out 2022 State-Mandated Reappraisal.

The major question most people ask following a State-Mandated Reappraisal is "Is my value correct?" An easy answer to that question is to ask yourself if you could sell your property for the revised value. If your answer is "yes" or "I think I could sell it for more," then you should be satisfied with your revised value. By Ohio Law, State-Mandated Reappraisal values are a determination of what your property would sell for on the open market between a willing buyer and willing seller.

If you don't believe that your property could sell at the new State-Mandated Reappraisal value, you have two options to have it reviewed.

First, you can submit your information to us online at Online Informal Hearing. This is the simplest and most convenient way to have your property value reviewed. You may also attend an informal hearing in person at any of the locations listed below.

Please be advised that no value decisions will be made at any informal hearings. Rather, both the online and informal hearings are intended to collect information only. All of the gathered information will be reviewed collectively following informal hearings.

If you are still not satisfied with your revised property value after an informal review, you may file a formal Board of Revision appeal. The Medina County Board of Revision accepts appeals through our office between January 1 and March 31. Once received, the Board of Revision will schedule a formal hearing with you to review any evidence you have in favor of a lower value. The Board may also gather independent evidence to make a determination of the value of your property as of January 1, 2022.
